Mary Anne Totten




Mary Anne Totten, MD is a retired physician who practiced primary care, endocrinology, and geriatrics in Boston, Massachusetts, Parkersburg, West Virginia, and Manchester, New Hampshire. Mary Anne graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1972. She interned in internal medicine at The Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven, Connecticut. Her internal medicine residency was at the New England Deaconess Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. She then completed a fellowship in endocrinology and diabetes at Lahey and Joslin Clinics, Boston. Mary Anne had a private medical practice for twenty years before pursuing a fellowship in geriatrics at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. Mary Anne was a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA). She was board certified in internal medicine and geriatrics. She was a Certified Medical Director and worked at two long term care facilities in Manchester, New Hampshire as a medical Director. She also was a faculty member of the Core Curriculum of AMDA.

After  she retired in 2015, Mary Anne was ordained as an interfaith spiritual minister by the Chaplainacy Institute of Maine (ChIME). Currently she volunteers in the spiritual care department  of the retirement community where she lives in Concord, New Hampshire. As her interest in elder spirituality expands, she offers workshops and presentatiions in the general community.
